This will be the homepage/main site for English 516 online for Winter 2010. A lot more stuff is coming here very soon, but for the time-being, there are a couple of things you will want to know for now.
First off, here’s the book you need to get:
Wysocki, Anne et al. Writing New Media: Theory and Applications for Expanding the Teaching of Composition. Logan, UT: Utah State UP, 2004
This is the one and only book you need to buy. We probably won’t be reading all of it and some if it is a little dated, but since it is the only book you’ll need to spend money on, I thought it was reasonable to require it.
Everything else we’ll be reading will be available electronically.
A second thing you can do if you’re inclined to do so over the break (if you’re so inclined) is to sign up for a wordpress.com blog. I’ll explain how to do this a little later, it isn’t that hard to do, and it isn’t something you need to do before class starts. But if you feel the urge to get started early, feel free.
