Before I get to the series of posts I need to make for this week’s readings and activities, I want to remind both you and myself of the “brief midterm report” on your project, an aspect of the research project that I managed to completely space off. Sorry about that.
Here’s what I said on the research project assignment page:
A brief, mid-term presentation on your project. The details of this are to be arranged, but during the week of March 8 through March 12, each of you will give a brief and virtual presentation about your research project and progress.
Remember that? Me neither. Oh, I had all kinds of ideas for this– a brief slide show, a YouTube update, some other kind of multimedia extravaganza. Oh, the dreams of an over-ambitious professor!
Well, look: I don’t want to burden everyone by adding this to your “to-do” list, but I would like everyone to do the following:
- First, post an entry to your blog this week that answers the question “how is the research project going?” The more details, help you want, questions you have, etc., etc., the better. This post can come in the form of a normal text entry, or, if you’re feeling adventurous, something different like a video post or a slide show.
- Second, look at at least two of your colleague’s blogs and read and comment on this “how is the research project going?” post. We’ll work out the logistics of this as the week goes on, but basically, it will mean that it is best to post your “how is your project going?” post as early as you can this week, and you look to respond to one of your classmates’ blogs later in the week.
- Warning! If someone’s project already has two comments from others, move on to another one of your classmates! In other words, if everyone comments on Andrea’s and Angie’s blogs (because their first, for example), then Renee and Judy will be out of luck, and that isn’t fair. So again, if someone already has two comments on their blog posts, then move on to a new one.
Seem reasonable? Questions or concerns?
Thanks for not throwing a presentation in there! I think this is completely reasonable. No word limit or anything on the post, right? Just something that gives a decent idea of where we are?
I don’t have a length in mind– I think you’re right, just something that gives a decent idea about where you’re at and also about what questions you might still have about the process.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! What was your facebook quote today? “You sir, continue to rock hard core!”
